The health system offers benefits to all regular full-time and part-time (0.5 FTE and above) employees. Benefits-eligible employees may participate in medical, dental and vision coverage; health savings account and flexible spending accounts; and other health system benefits.

  • New hires are eligible on the first day of the month following 30 days of employment and have 30 days from their hire date to enroll in benefits.
  • Current employees who become newly eligible for benefits or experience a qualifying life event have 30 days from the applicable change to enroll in benefits.

Employees are eligible to apply for short-term disability benefits for disabilities that occur on or after the first day of the month following six months of eligibility.

Covering your family members

Coverage is also available to an employee’s eligible dependents including:

  • Legal spouse. You may be required to pay a surcharge if your spouse has access to other medical benefits through an employer – see page 8 of the 2026 benefits enrollment guide.
  • Children under age 26, born to or lawfully adopted by you or your spouse, and/or a child for whom you or your spouse is the legal guardian.
    • For medical, dental and vision only: Coverage ends at the end of the month in which they turn 26. For example, the child turns 26 on June 5; coverage ends June 30.
    • All other benefits: Coverage ends on the day the child turns 26.
  • Disabled children age 26 or older, born to or lawfully adopted by you or your spouse, who are incapable of self-support, provided the disability began before age 26.
  • A child for whom healthcare coverage is required through a qualified medical child-support order or other court or administrative order.

For those who enrolled during annual benefits enrollment for 2026:

All employees at Liberty Hospital and Clinics who enroll dependent(s) in a benefit for 2026 will go through the dependent confirmation process.

For health system employees, only those who enroll dependent(s) who were not covered in 2025 will be asked for documents confirming they meet eligibility requirements.

In November, all affected staff will receive detailed communication, including the documents needed and how/when to provide them. For now, get a head start on gathering documents — but don’t send them yet. There will be a secure portal for uploading.

All new hires who enroll dependent(s) will go through the process to confirm dependent eligibility; the timeline will be based on their hire date.
