Workers’ compensation benefits are provided to employees for work-related injuries, exposures and occupational illnesses that occur by accident and arise out of the course and scope of employment with the health system. These benefits are provided at no cost to employees. Workers’ compensation runs at the same time as Leave of Absence.

All work-related injuries and incidents must be reported, even when the employee does not want to receive medical treatment or an evaluation. Employees who sustain work-related injuries, exposures or occupational illnesses should:

  1. Immediately inform their supervisor
  2. Call the nurse triage line at 866-356-5350 or 913-356-5350

If you don’t report within 20 days of the event, you may lose your right to workers’ compensation benefits.
