If I’m currently taking the tobacco cessation course, how do I answer the tobacco attestation question during open enrollment?

If you currently use tobacco products, or have used them in the past six months, you must answer “yes” to the tobacco attestation, even though you are taking steps to stop. Tobacco products include cigarettes, cigars, e-cigarettes, cigarillos, pipes, chewing tobacco, snuff, dip and loose tobacco smoked via pipe, hookah or hand-rolled cigarettes.
If you complete the tobacco cessation course by November 30, 2020, you will not be charged the $50 fee for tobacco use in 2021 (even though you answered “yes” to the attestation question). The Benefits Team will automatically be notified when you complete the course and the fee will be waived.
