Student loan management

All employees and their dependents can complete an online assessment to determine if you qualify for the federal PSLF program. From there, you get initial recommendations from Summer – for free.

• If you qualify for loan forgiveness, you can choose to pay a $50 annual fee for PSLF experts at Summer to help you:
  • Navigate the complex federal requirements
  • Assess your current loan situation, compare loan repayment options and find the right repayment plan for satisfying the PSLF requirements
  • Sign and submit for loan forgiveness on the remaining loan balance after 120 qualifying payments
• You can also use the free recommendations provided by Summer and this checklist to do the work yourself without the fee.

Physicians have a different student loan management benefit through Candidly.

If you qualify for PSLF, you’ll need to verify your employment. Here’s how:

• Go to experian.com/app/ee/eeregister.aspx and follow the instructions to create an account, using the employer access code: 8151716F.
• Experian will send a setup link to the email address you provided. Use it to create a password and activate your account.

After login, choose Letters > PSLF Letter. This will generate a letter with the completed Employment Certification Form (ECF) and instructions to submit.

Legacy Olathe Health employees: To verify employment before December 24, 2023, please complete your form and email it to Diane Lewis, benefits consultant, at dlewis11@kumc.edu.

Note: Experian's PSLF fulfillment team does not submit your application, communicate with MOHELA/Fed Loans, or have any additional insight to your application status. Direct any questions regarding your status to MOHELA/Fed Loans or to your Summer representative if you’re using that program.
